Lithium

Lithium is a highly reactive flammable alkali metal. Because of its high reactivity, it never occurs naturally in elemental form, and instead, only appears in compounds, which are usually ionic. Today, it is mostly extracted from brine excavation. Commercially, it is isolated electrolytically from a mixture of lithium chloride and potassium chloride.

It is majorly used in electrical and electronics industries in the production of rechargeable batteries, phosphate battery and nanowire battery. Demand for rechargeable batteries is currently driven by demand for portable electronic devices such as readers, cell phones, portable computers and cameras.

Other applications include: continuous casting in metallurgy; ceramics and glass; lubricating greases; among different other chemical and industrial uses.

Berium Group is focused on safeguarding optimized sourcing for lithium in its different forms and supporting clients in varied industries in Americas, Europe and Asia with effective supply of high purity refined metal.
